If you implemented it in .m file, then you can start Matlab,
and put your m file in the Matlab path, and then from
the Matlab console type

foo.m

where foo.m is your implementation of the vertical handover between
heterogeneous wireless networks.

If you impelmented it in simulink, then type simulink to start
it, and then load you model and run the simulation inside simulink.

the Matlab console type
foo.m
I mean type foo only, where foo is the function in foo.m

Yes, I think uisng simulink you'd be able to do it much faster,
as simulink has all the blocks ready. You just need to
connect them to make up your model than having to write
code.

look at http://www.mathworks.com/products/simulink/ and
search for the blocks you need first, to see what available.

If you have student version, it comes with Simulink as
part of Matlab. I am not an expert on simulink, used
it only for 2-3 HW's, but I think for what you are
doing, it will be faster to use.

i am triying to develope the model but i have one doubt that is it possible to move the node in the matlab simulation . because i want to implement the mobility in the simulation scenario. please help me ........i am not getting how to implement it and the readymade blocks are not available in the matlab for the simulink to develop the wireless scenario

it and the readymade blocks are not available in the matlab for the
simulink to develop the wireless scenario
There are lots of wirless related stuff in simulink. Just google
it.

may be this can give some ideas:

"Developing Wireless Systems with MATLAB and Simulink"

http://www.systematics.co.il/mathworks/Download/PDF/WIRELESS_Seminar_2007.pdf

sorry, can't help more. If you do not find what you find
in simulink, try to contract Mathworks support if you have
specific needs.

Hi Anup,

I wrote you yesterday an email asking for help because my Master Thesis topic is similar to the work that you are developing and I don't know how to do it. Have you got something?

Please, I need help!

Regards, Sergio.

Hi Anup!

I am a Master's student working on vertical hand off. I know this thread is very old but can you give me any ideas on how to get started? Were u able to implement the WIFI UMTS model in matlab sucessfully? I need some advise.
